About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

As the delivery is speeding up, we are now recruiting for an Earthworks Modeller to join our project team based in our Brackley office.

 
You'll be required to undertake modelling activities on behalf of the Earthworks Project Director for design assurance and managing data to assist construction activities. In this role you will manage the Permanent and Temporary Works models within Autodesk Civil 3D, or Trimble Business Centre to develop phasing models and combine datasets to help prepare design models suitable for Machine Control Systems.
  
You will be responsible for raising Technical queries when errors are identified in design models and seek confirmation from the Design Joint Venture that the corrections are acceptable. You will also need to provide validation of the earthworks production data using data from DIGGER, survey information and machine telematics. To assist in the monitoring of the project against the planned delivery program.
  
Support will be given to the routewide earthworks and construction teams with volume reporting, temporary works models and design assurance.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering and technical standards, activity on large complex major projects/ programmes within a complex infrastructure delivery programme.
  • Understanding of machine control on Excavators, Dozers and Graders.
  • A good knowledge of earthworks digital design and modelling using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Centre and AutoCAD.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex technical data.
  • Proactive approach to achieving excellent quality standards.
