About The Role

EKFB are proud to have been appointed to an 80km stretch of the HS2 line, working on the detailed design and construction of the train line between London and Birmingham (Phase 1).
 
We're shaping the Infrastructure industry for a better tomorrow and are looking to recruit a Design Planning Manager to join us in our Milton Keynes office. This role will be flexible as we are also open to remote working.
 
In this role you will lead the Planning function of a section of the C23 Mains Civil Works contract in order to prioritise and co-ordinate construction and design activities to maintain delivery. You must take ownership of the project plans during Project execution (from engineering process to project hand over).
 
We will also expect you to support the Project Managers in all scheduling related matters both internally and externally with the client. It is essential that you ensure the accurate verification of data on Project progress across all functions such as procurement, design, logistics, consents, construction etc. from Project Managers, Subcontractors or other project personnel.
 
You will also have overall responsibility for the management and interface with Subcontractors project plans in order to set robust Contractual baselines schedules with progress monitoring accountability thereafter. You must be able to challenge internal and external stakeholders to ensure all plans are valid, realistic and appropriate.

We'd like you to take responsibility for taking actions to improve and optimise Construction project plans ensuring recovery plans are in place where required. You must also be able to articulate the programme in presentations, conference calls and meetings to internal and external parties.

It's essential that you take ownership of regular, timely and accurate reports (to agreed formats and timetable) on planning matters for both internal and client stakeholders. In this role you'll also oversee the linking of cost estimates to the programme for time phase budget forecasting.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Power BI
  • You will need to be recognised by a professional body such as ICE, APM or PMP.
  • Experienced professional within a private sector organisation
  • Ideally knowledge or experience of working within a multi-site or contracting environment
