About The Role

EKFB are looking to recruit Materials Controller/Coordinator to support the Area Logistics Team in our Greatworth to Southam section. In this fast-paced role, we will require you to use Bill of Quantities for individual work packages to call off all material in line with construction programme. Expediting materials from all suppliers to site in time for construction is an essential part of this position. We’ll also need you to input material requisitions for delivery team to support the programme as well as coordinate deliveries to provide efficiencies in transport and reduction in handling.

It’s important that you balance storage on site against Just In Time delivery, ensuring overstocking is minimised. Ensuring suppliers use EKFB VMBS and provide guidance for new suppliers. We’d like you to provide accurate stock lists for laydown areas, issue pick lists and audit stock levels. Report, advise and rectify any stock deficiencies.

You will need to identify specific requirements for deliveries, including size of vehicles, lifting requirements and abnormal loads as well as book or allocate internal haulage to support deliveries. Attending Delivery Team planning meetings and support site engineers in the supply of materials to site. Advise individual teams on requisition process, material allocation and materials scheduling.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experienced in material control
  • Experience in dealing with suppliers and customers
  • Knowledge of programmes/schedules/planning
  • Understanding of delivery vehicles and capabilities
  • Strong experience with IT systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong planning/coordination skills

It is essential that you have knowledge of construction material and experienced in operational delivery. You will be experienced in working in large construction project environments. Planning or Scheduling qualifications are desirable.
