About The Role

We’re looking for a Utilities Coordinator to join our team based in Buckingham.

In this role you will responsible for the approval of ‘Permit to works’ and protection of utility assets within a sector of the EKFB works on the HS2 project. You will review and approve all plans to break ground and ensure works are being planned in accordance with the ‘Breaking Ground Activities and Utility Detection Standard’. You will support the site teams in achieving a fully compliant and safe delivery of all works in the utilities sphere while striving for best practice in all matters related to utilities - including ensuring compliance with EKFB’s Underground and Overhead Services guidelines. 
 
Part of this role is to provide site engineering duties within a geographical area of the Section. Establish the level and survey control for the works, liaising with the Survey team and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are made on a regular basis. You will assist the site management team to manage sections of the work/specific sub-contract packages and liaise with the client representative and designers over design issues/changes. You will take responsibility for checking and keeping records of delivered material, to ensure all materials used on site are in line with the specification. To include adequate checks on subcontractor materials.
 
You will be responsible for carry out checks on the sub-contractor’s setting out and also checks for quality in accordance with the inspection and test plan throughout the contract and duly record. You will establish records; calibration documents and check registers for all instruments on site, including subcontractor’s instruments. Keep accurate records for excavations, reduce dig, concrete pours, reinforcement etc. and convey to commercial team and carry out surveys of completed works to record as-built conditions.
 
In addition, you will assist in drafting method statements, task briefings and inspection and test plans. You will take reasonable care for the safety of themselves and of any other person who may be affected by what they do or fail to do at work. You will co-operate with their employers or any other persons in the performance of their statutory duties and work in accordance with the EKFB BMS Policy and procedures.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Experience of setting out on civil engineering projects and management of daily activities.
  • Experience with Utility construction.
  • Understanding of Overhead (GS6) and Underground (HSG47) procedures and constraints in working around of multi-utility’s.
  • Knowledge of Statutory Undertakers safety and control procures.  
  • Understanding of GIS.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Cable avoidance training.
  • IOSH Avoiding Danger form Underground Services or EUSR or NVQ Equivalent.
  • Must have a valid CSCS Card .
  • Must have a valid UK drivers license and access to own vehicle.
